Recently I received a gift from my two fishing buddies, Valle and Raul. It was a fishing rod to the boat anchored, a Cayenne Teleboat Tika, a reed teleregulable to fish with 3.5 or with 4 mts.
A lightweight yet powerful rod with interchangeable dropouts very sensitive. The truth, past sugar cane to make fishing more comfortable in the long days of fishing bait. But an oversight made almost I load the first day of use ...

this is what I used: a plastic tube and a stripper termoretractil to warm up. 
have to cut the tube to keep in mind that heat also shrinks along, but not much, but in 35-40 cm can reduce about 4-5. As I cut the cane to fall short ... 
We have to heat it by rotating, not moving along before shrink tubing, because unless you can get air bubbles out only after a puncture. 
This is the result of the first part of the job. As you see, has been short (on purpose) now we put another tube over top of it, but cutting it longer, to cover the entire handle.

This was the "work of art" hehehe ... now and I can sit on the cane when you want without fear of splitting it into two.
